On October 19, "Real Achievements for a More Sustainable Dairy Sector" will be held in Parma, Italy, during the IDF-World Dairy Summit (WDS), "Summilk." This will mark the first official reporting session for the
Global Dairy Agenda for Action (GDAA) - the industry's commitment to making a positive contribution to address climate change.
Signed during the 2009 IDF-World Dairy Summit in Berlin by seven global organizations including
Global Dairy Platfrom GDP, the pledge brought together the global dairy industry and its partners who are committed to pooling available resources and cooperating to realize the goal of a more sustainable future.
A dedicated two-hour session during the WDS will focus on progress and achievements of the dairy sector in the area of climate change. The session will review the industry's initial commitments which are embedded into the GDAA and the supporting Green Paper (an online catalogue of global industry initiatives to reduce climate change).
The GDAA team is encouraging the dairy industry to submit all relevant examples of initiatives to the Green Paper, so they can potentially be highlighted at the reporting session. Go to the Submission page on the Dairy Sustainability Commitment Website.
